The retailer operated on an outdated, rigid theme with slow load times, inconsistent mobile merchandising, and difficulty updating seasonal product drops. Their growing collection of handcrafted ceramics required an editorial presentation that reflected craft quality without sacrificing conversion.
We audited existing customer journeys, checkout friction points, and catalogue taxonomies. We designed a clean, typography-led storefront architecture focused on large-format imagery, intuitive collection filtering, and seamless mobile checkout.
A custom lightweight Shopify theme built from scratch using clean Liquid templates and modern responsive styling. We implemented structured collection navigation, contextual product cross-sells, optimised WebP image pipelines, and direct integration with their UK inventory system.
The storefront required a delicate balance between fine editorial photography and technical e-commerce performance. Rather than relying on heavy third-party app scripts that often degrade Shopify load times, we engineered native Liquid modules for collection filtering and slide-out cart previews.
